If you're a nature lover, then it is very likely that you've already spent time in Natural Bridge State Resort Park in Kentucky. It’s home to the fascinating natural bridge, among other amazing features, and it's a hiking paradise.
The park offers several hiking trails of various lengths and difficulty levels, many of which lead you to the park’s namesake natural bridge. The rock formations throughout this area are also some of the highlights.
However, one hike that remains somewhat overlooked is the Rock Garden Trail. You can reach it by beginning on the Original Trail, turning right onto the Battleship Rock Trail, and then following the Rock Garden Trailhead from there.
This trail leads you through the forest, just about the Hemlock Lodge. While there are many flat sections, the Rock Garden Trail also has stairs and an elevation gain of 220 feet.
This trail is particularly appealing for bird watchers and nature lovers. And, of course, you'll still experience the unique rock formations that this area of Red River Gorge Kentucky is known for.
The 1.75-mile trail is perfect for exploring and truly does feel like a garden filled with interesting rocks.
