Located in Olive Hill in eastern Kentucky is the incredible area of Carter Caves State Resort Park.
Of course, the most well-known feature of this park in Kentucky is its cave system.
The park offers daily guided tours all year long, so you can explore both Cascade Cave and X-Cave during your visit.
The resort also offers some of the most unique events both inside the caves and out.
Try yoga, watch a movie, or go gem mining all at this one-of-a-kind destination.
Camping is another popular way to experience the park.
At the campground, they offer space for RVs, tents, and even horse camping. Plus, it is open year-round for your convenience.
While many folks come to the park to spend time underground, do not ignore the several trails that wind throughout the park.
They include scenic swinging bridges, natural arches, beautiful waterways, caves, and all of the natural wonders you'd expect to find in Kentucky.
While there isn't a marina at the park, you can bring your own canoe or kayak and get out on the water.
You can also obtain a fishing license at the lodge and spend some time on the banks of the lake, trying out your luck.
One surprising feature here is its delicious restaurant, Tierney's Cavern.
