It's a beautiful spot to hang out, dip your feet in, and explore during times when the water moves freely. Have you been through Deep Creek and Pillsbury Crossing before to enjoy this Kansas waterfall? It's a must-see for sure, and belongs on every bucket list. If you've got the urge to mark something on your bucket list, this waterfall is one of our best.
Today's adventure is all about Pillsbury Crossing, a beautiful area of Kansas that you might not think twice about passing on the highway on your travels.
It starts at Deep Creek, which was a bit much for wagons to cross back when settlers made their way West.
The beautiful Deep Creek Falls at Pillsbury Crossing is a natural limestone slab that overhangs, creating soothing waterfalls that aren't very tall, but are fun to wade through in warmer months.
Pioneers used this slab to cross Deep Creek, and though the waterfall is only a few feet high in total, this stone slab made it easy-peasy to get over the water safely.
Now, you can enjoy dipping your feet in the water during hot months or just the sound of the rushing water when it's a little too cold to get wet. It's not far from the road, either.
During the right seasons, you can see wildflowers like this Bracted Spiderwort, a bright beauty among all the green during warmer months.
Please remember to never leave anything behind when you visit a natural location, as we'd like to keep them as clean as possible for future visits and generations to come.
