Kansas is home to some stunning state parks and it is almost impossible to choose just one that is the best. However, Milford State Park, located in the small town of Milford, is at the top of the list. This state park is a nature lover’s paradise with a long list of activities, some of the most gorgeous views you will find in the Sunflower State, and excellent camping areas.
Milford State Park is located along the shore of Milford Reservoir. This is the largest lake in Kansas.
If you love to spend time on the water, this state park will become your favorite destination.
Not only will boaters love to spend their day on the water, but the lake is a popular fishing destination. Anglers of all ages can catch catfish, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, walleye, and more.
If you don’t have a fishing boat, you can still get in on the action. The shore is an excellent place to drop a line and catch a fish.
After you’ve spent some time on the water, head to the beach. Lay down a blanket, bring some snacks, and enjoy the sunshine.
Make sure you don’t miss the splash park and playground. This is a favorite area for children of all ages.
If you want to get away from the crowds and enjoy some solitude, explore one of the three hiking trails in Milford State Park in Kansas. These trails range in length from 0.6 miles to 2.3 miles.
The Eagle Ridge Trail (pictured above) is the longest hiking trail in the state park but it offers some incredible views of the area.
Make sure you stay for a while to truly explore all that this state park has to offer. There are multiple campgrounds in the park, making it easy to find the perfect campsite.
No matter how long you choose to stay or where you explore, give yourself plenty of time to just sit back and enjoy the views.
