Getting outside into the natural landscapes around Kansas is always a fantastic time. A good quick hike will have you feeling refreshed and tired in the right way, and it's even better when you have a beautiful pond to enjoy. Have you enjoyed this beautiful loop trail at Kansas's Rocky Pond before?
Way out in a small town in Northern Kansas, you'll find a little trail often overlooked by many. It's not a fancy place, but the scenery sure is beautiful.
This spot is none other than Rocky Pond, a place in and around Belleville with a surprisingly beautiful trail.
The trail runs you about 2.2 miles, but is pretty easy on the feet, as long as you're okay with gravel.
They also have an RV park where you can camp out and enjoy the area if you so wish. Otherwise, taking in the beauty near sunrise or sunset is our favorite way to enjoy the area.
Of course like most places in Kansas, you'll need those high socks, good shoes, and plenty of bug spray to keep the biters off. Not walking in the grass doesn't mean they can't still get to ya!
The trail is open from sunup to sundown, and leashed dogs are allowed. Maybe you'll see some visiting shorebirds while you're here!
While you're in town, make sure to come by and see what Belleville has to offer while you're here. We really recommend the Paul Boyer Museum of Animated Carvings!
