Don't forget about your summer bucket list that you've probably been adding to for months now. Here's just a few of the things we think you shouldn't miss before the end of the summer. Have you done all of these yet? Let's get started!
1. Drive to a field just to see sunflowers.
There's nothing more magical for Kansans that a field full of sunflowers. We haven't had a lot of rain, but by the end of the summer, there should be sunflowers galore. It's' always a treat to see a sea of such a beautiful flower. Here's a link to the full article, if you'd like to learn more.
2. Spend a day or two exploring a beautiful lake.
Wilson Lake is my lake of choice when I want to swim, boat, and hike all in the same day. Spending a day or two here is like a vacation in its own right.

3. Take a hike somewhere exciting.
It doesn't matter where you hike, so long as you're ready for an adventure. These hikes are all different, but with a little looking, you'll find the perfect one for you this summer.

4. Sleep somewhere new.
Cedar Crest Lodge is an absolutely stunning place to spend a night of relaxation and watch the sun set on the hills.

5. Relax next to a waterfall.
Kansas has a good number of waterfalls here and there, but this list covers the easiest ones to access so you can focus on the scenery instead of sore feet.

6. Visit some cats that are a little on the wild side.
Kansas's zoos are amazing, but you shouldn't miss out on this feline sanctuary that's packed with fun whether it's fun time or feeding time.

7. Cool off with a wacky water park adventure.
What would summer be without a water park? Kenwood Cove happens to be a great choice, with plenty of activities and space for the whole family.

8. Watch a craftsman at work making marbles galore.
There's nothing cooler than watching a glassblowing display, but a demo for how marbles are made makes it even better. Plus, the shop is also filled with retro toys that are sure to bring back all sorts of memories. Here's a link to the full article, if you'd like to learn more.
9. Spot a couple miniature statues out and about.
Miniature statues of Liberty, that is. These ladies are spotted all over Kansas, and odds are that you've been through towns with one before. Why not cross a few more off your list? Here's a link to the full article, if you'd like to learn more.
10. Ride a carousel surrounded by memorabilia.
The C. W. Parker Carousel Museum in Leavenworth is a stunning display of all ages of carousels, including one of the oldest models that still moves. Why not come and study the old before riding the new? Here's a link to the full article, if you'd like to learn more.
11. Take the family to this children's farm set years ago.
Have a blast at Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead, where you can see how a turn of the century farm operated, as well as old schoolhouses and blacksmiths. Who wouldn't want to pet farm animals and learn a little history? Here's a link to the full article, if you'd like to learn more.
