We're so excited about the upcoming fall foliage that we can't wait to visit each and every one of our favorite parks and gardens to see it all. These parks and arboretums are the best places to view fall foliage around Kansas, as soon as the leaves turn. If you don't believe me, just check out some of these locations for yourself!
1. Bartlett Arboretum - Belle Plaine
Bartlett Arboretum is really one of those picture-perfect places for fall photos, especially if you like cottages and bridges over water. Being surrounded by fall foliage is a dream come true here.
2. Overland Park Arboretum
The arboretum in Overland Park is also a great choice when you want to be surrounded by every shade of fall and more. This park is the perfect backdrop for any relaxing fall day, especially if you like waterfalls.
3. Wichita's Botanica Gardens
We all know about Botanica's winter events, but did you know it's also a beautiful spot to be during the fall? There might not be lights, but the colorful trees shine brighter.
4. Wamego City Park
Wamego has plenty green to go around, so when autumn rolls around, you have to hurry to see the colors change. Don't forget a bottle of wine, if you're looking to have a picnic here this fall!
5. Shawnee Mission Park - Shawnee
Shawnee Mission Park is large and full of trees, but the areas surrounding water are the most beautiful after the reds and oranges start to appear.
6. David Traylor Zoo - Emporia
You might not have expected the David Traylor Zoo to make this list, but the beautiful colors surrounding wild animals can't be forgotten. Don't forget your local zoo when you want to have some fall fun!
7. Great Plains Nature Center - Wichita
Chisholm Creek Park and the attached nature center is a great way to get out and explore wildlife while still being surrounded by beauty. Catch the trees change color if you can! There's only a short window before they all turn brown or drop their leaves.
8. Dillon Nature Center - Hutchinson
This beautiful nature center in Hutch has everything you could want. Nature trails, wildlife information, and plenty of trees that are just waiting to change color.

9. Chaplin Nature Center - Arkansas City
In Ark City, there's a great option if you're looking for an excuse to get outdoors and explore this fall. Chaplin Nature Center has all those beautiful trees and more, with nature trails and learning exhibits indoors to give you a break from the chill.
