If you've lived in Kansas for more than a few days, you know that it's pretty flat here. True, we have some hills and other areas with texture but for the most part, a lot of the state is farmland. Because of how flat it is, whenever there's a decent sized hill to stand on, you feel like you're on top of the world. If you love that feeling, you'll love checking out this overlook in Kansas that really makes you speechless.
Remember this familiar looking attraction? It's Coronado Heights, a miniature castle that was built in 1936.
It was built to commemorate an explorer named Francisco Vázquez de Coronado, who supposedly abandoned his quest for a city of gold, and turned around to head back to Mexico.
Many of the rocks around the castle are carved by visitors or by wind and water.
Who knows what you'll see each time you visit, because new carvings are added onto the surrounding rocks all the time.
However, this isn't just a picnic spot for people visiting Lindsborg.
Did you know it has one of the most stunning views of Kansas?
At the top of the hill, you can see for miles around you.
In the spring and summer, there are wildflowers all over the ground surrounding the castle. In the fall, you can see all sorts of shades of gold over the plains.
It's an amazing sight, and one that I could look at for hours.

Coronado Heights sits just outside of Lindsborg, Kansas. However, we recommend stopping in town for a while before you head up. There's a lot of amazing things to see there!
