Whether you're happy about the change or not, fall is here to welcome us with cooler weather and rain. You might be losing your warmer days full of sun, but there's plenty of colors appearing around the state to look forward to. Sometimes, the best places to find the best fall views are hiding in plain sight, just like the hikeable lake in this state park. Let's get going!
Welcome to Cross Timbers State Park, where the views in the fall are simply stunning.
When you first get to the park, there's a great trail for hiking that partially borders the lake.
It's full of tall trees and mossy rocks and feels like you're no longer in Kansas anymore. During autumn, the grasses and tree leaves turn wonderful colors that are just picture-perfect.
The leaves on the trees turn red, orange, and gold while framing Toronto Lake with the beautiful scenes of fall. While you're here, you can enjoy campsites of all kinds, park trails, and fishing. It could be a half-day outing or a whole weekend of fun!
Just look at this amazing photo! Any excuse to get out here for a hike or a day on the water is a great one in our eyes.
Here's a great guide for you to plan just when to visit this amazing Kansas lake — when the fall colors are at their highest.
Afterwards, don't forget to check out the rest of the places on the Kansas Fall Foliage Road Trip.
