Welcome to Dornwood Park, a big patch of green in Topeka that's just begging to be explored.
It's full of surprises, especially if you're expecting a regular hike through nature. Sometimes, they even have guided tours that showcase the history of the park and the secrets within.
Not only is there plenty of space to explore through the trees, but soon after entering the trail, you're greeted with this sight.
The ruins of an abandoned dairy farm are (mostly) still standing and fun to explore if you have some time on your hands.
The trail itself is a 5 mile loop that's pretty easy to navigate.
The paths are well-worn through the trees, so you won't have trouble finding your way or finding your footing.
Can you imagine that a dairy farm once operated behind these walls?
Today however, you can bring family and even your dog (on a leash, of course) out for a walk under the canopy.

The dairy barn is by far the best part here, but don't let that detract from the beauty surrounding and overtaking the ruins.
