Kansas has plenty of sunsets that are beautiful enough to call home about. Have you ever looked for that perfect sunset show, but you just couldn't find it? Well, look no further! Today we head to Elk City State Park where this stunning lakeside view is hiding within the trees on the Table Mound Trail. Are you ready to get out there?
Table Mound Trail is a 5.6-mile out and back trip that you can even use for camping!
It's got quite a bit of terrain to navigate over, so make sure you bring a walking stick and a great pair of boots if you're clumsy like me.
Every once in a while, you get a peek through the trees at Elk City Lake below you.
All over the trail, there are rock formations and places to look down the edge of the bluff you're standing on.
There are lots of places to climb on, but be careful you don't knock any of them over!
During the daytime, it will look something like this. It's still stunning, but when the sun goes down...
...you're met with this gorgeous view over the lake, through a window in the trees.
