It's amazing just how beautiful Kansas becomes in the spring. After all, much of our beauty comes from the state itself. There's nothing as refreshing as surrounding yourself with flowers, and Kansas is the perfect place to do so. These parks and gardens in Kansas are some of the best places to be when it comes to spring and fall flower viewing. Let's take a look, shall we?
1. K-State University Gardens - Manhattan, Kansas
Not only are the gardens here full of beautiful flowers in every color, but they also serve as an area to study wildlife and bring nature to the people. What better than a garden that's also educational? They're open every day as well. Once you have been, we're sure you'll agree that visiting these gardens is one of the best things to do in Kansas in the spring.
2. Dyck Arboretum of the Plains - Hesston, Kansas
This arboretum is full of both native Kansas plants and plants that are adaptable to our weather. They push for conservation and seek to educate anyone who listens about our environment. They're open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays.
3. Botanica - Wichita, Kansas
Wichita's botanical gardens are absolutely stunning in any season, but my favorite is spring. The tulips and other spring blooms planted here are full of color, and the paths through the park are a real treat to walk through. They're open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday through Saturday.
4. The Overland Park Arboretum - Overland Park, Kansas
The Overland Park Arboretum is full of all sorts of colors and shapes. Of course, they're open seven days a week, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
5. Ted Ensley Gardens - Topeka, Kansas
Topeka is full of beautiful scenery, but you can't miss the Ted Ensley Gardens and the plethora of tulips within. It's truly something you'll want to see before they're gone. These gardens are open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
6. Eisenhower Park & Rose Garden - Abilene, Kansas
Abilene is known for scenic views and plenty of history, but sometimes fresh, new things like these flowers are what you'll love seeing best. Can you imagine sitting next to the fountain, surrounded by flowers while you just relax? It's definitely worth a stop, especially if Abilene's been on your list for a while. They're open from 6 a.m. to noon. Now here is a fantastic place to go in springtime in Kansas!
7. Japanese Friendship Garden - Lawrence, Kansas
This garden matches one in Lawrence's sister city, Hiratsuka, Japan. They sent over their mayor as well as other designers to ensure the garden was absolutely perfect. Yet, few people know of the beauty inside this little masterpiece! It is open from 6:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
8. The Reinisch Rose Garden - Topeka, Kansas
Another garden in Topeka, this rose garden doesn't only display roses, but they're definitely the most popular item. Red, orange, pink, white, and even multicolor roses on the vine are all here for you to see. They're open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., so you've got plenty of time to stop and smell the roses after all.
