There are a lot of ways to feel like you've stepped back in time in Kansas. Whether that's visiting a town, attending a reenactment, or browsing a museum. However, this 19th century farm in Kansas is working to keep the old alive, even for a little while. Are you ready to step back in time for a day?
Welcome to Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop, an attraction in Olathe that's brimming with charm.
All of the equipment and buildings make you feel right at home, if home to you is a 19th century farm.
Spending the day here away from screens is so freeing, plus you get to experience things you might not have before.
Enjoy the old ways of blacksmithing, farming, raising animals, and the simpler things in life.
All around, there are historically accurate garments, furniture, and farm equipment that in most cases, still works just fine.
It's like stepping into a movie set, except you're allowed to touch many of the things you see. Plus, who doesn't want to ride on a carriage like this?
As you venture through the areas of the farm, you'll learn a lot about life in the past.
Can you believe many Kansans used to live just like this, with the same style of clothing, the same furniture, and horses instead of cars?
Make sure to keep an eye out for special events, because you'll never know how cool they can be. Just look at these old fashioned fireworks!
Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and additionally from 6-8 p.m. on Thursdays. On Sundays, they're open from 12-4p.m.
You'll find Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop at 1200 E Kansas City Rd., Olathe, KS. For more information, you can visit their Facebook page or their website.
