The great outdoors is a fine place to hang out, especially if you love listening to nature more than your neighborhood. If you're feeling cooped up due to the time of year, weather, or you just need some fresh air, maybe Ernie Miller Nature Park is what you need. Come check out some of the features you might see during your visit! Watch spring wake up before your eyes and get that fresh air you need.
Welcome to the beauty of Ernie Miller Nature Park, a spot in Kansas that spring really makes come alive. Nature is beautiful in all seasons, but we can't deny how stunning it looks in the spring.
Once things start turning green a bit, you may want to head out on some of the roughly 4 miles of trails featured here.
Spending time by yourself or with family can be nice, and surrounding yourself with quiet sounds of natural Kansas landscapes and flowing water is oh so relaxing.
Of course, nothing is so relaxing as a little waterfall after a good, fresh spring rain. Listening to trickling water will help you relax and unwind from some of the stress you might be carrying. I know it sure helps me!
If your family includes kids or adults who aren't afraid to entertain their inner child, you'll enjoy the paths across the water and the little buildings made of sticks that make you feel like a kid in the backyard again.
To learn more about this beautiful spot, you can visit the nature center whenever it's open for live animal displays, educational entertainment, and more.
When you're ready to explore, it's open daily from sunrise to sunset, and the nature center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Dogs and bikes are not allowed on the trail.
To stay informed about closings, events, and more, check out their official website. For trail guides, we recommend the Ernie Miller AllTrails listing.
Let us know all of your favorite spots all over Kansas to travel to with our new nomination page. You can even nominate places in other states! We'd love to hear about anywhere you like to visit.
