Breathe in the fresh Kansas air when you embark on the Prairie Center Nature Reserve Loop Trail in Olathe.
Rated easy for hikers of all ages and of all skill levels, the picturesque trail loop meanders for just under three miles.
Although it's considered an easy trail, you'll probably want to wear sturdy shoes or hiking boots as the terrain changes and includes gravel.
Stroll along the trail that will take you past prairies, a shimmering lake, and a flowing creek.
Only pedestrians are allowed along the trail, so you'll have to leave you beloved pooch and your bicycle at home.
However, you'll probably run across some wildlife during your hike. (If you like bird-watching, bring your binoculars, too.)
However, you'll probably want to bring your smartphone or camera to capture the beautiful scenery. If you need a break, relax on a bench and admire the landscape around you.
If you hike the loop trail during the warm months, make sure you bring along an ample supply of bug spray, and put enough on you before starting your hike.
