The Bridal Veil to Weeping Rock Trail is one of the most popular fall hikes in Iowa, and you'll want to see just why hikers flock to enjoy beautiful Pikes Peak State Park hikes all season.

The trail is less than two miles long and you'll have just under 300 feet of elevation gain, making it a little more challenging than most Iowa hikes.
Luckily, the boardwalks and steps make it easier. No rock hopping here!

Bring a pair of binoculars because you never know what you'll see from up here.
Watch the ships move up and down the river, or keep an eye out for Bald Eagles. Eagles start to nest in this area in late October and early November.
If you're looking for a more lightly trafficked Pikes Peak State Park hike, try the Bluebird / Point Ann Loop.

This 6.2-mile loop trail shows off views of the river, quarry, and the quieter side of the park.
You'll have some elevation gain at the beginning of the hike, but it's fairly level once you get to the top of the ridge, and it's a lovely day hike where you'll often have the whole trail to yourself.
