Would you like to hike then eat a delicious meal all in one area? Adventuring outside always burns up fuel, so we've planned a day where you hike then eat a world-famous pork tenderloin in Harlan, Iowa. With the day planned out, all you need to do is arrange the date and head out. Who is ready for an adventure?
Today's trip will take us out to Harlan, Iowa, where a beautiful hike awaits at Prairie Rose State Park. After your hike, fueling up will be double the treat.
The Prairie Rose Lake Loop is a moderate-level trail that runs 5.7 miles and has great lakeside scenery for you to enjoy as you head around it.
The beautiful lake is a great sight to behold, especially in the fall. The terrain isn't difficult to navigate, but the whole trail isn't paved over either. Make sure to wear good shoes, especially if it has rained recently.
After your hike, head into Harlan for a bite to eat at a restaurant called Victoria Station. Stopping at the station is something every Iowan should have on their bucket list.
While you're here, make sure you try their award-winning pork tenderloin sandwich, which won Iowa's Best Breaded Pork Tenderloin in 2021. Sink your teeth into something tasty!
If you're not a huge fan of tenderloins, have no fear. Victoria Station serves up all sorts of tasty meals, ranging from salads and pasta to steak and fish.
If you'd like to plan your day with a trip like this, check out the Prairie Rose Lake Loop trail page on AllTrails for reviews and a trail map, and don't forget to follow Victoria Station on Facebook for all the pork tenderloin cravings you'll have in the future.
