Lots of people think that Iowa is just rolling cornfields, but those of us who hang out exploring the trails and parks of the Hawkeye State know that there are so many tucked away natural wonders to discover that you'll always find something new to see. Take a scenic hike along the Clive Greenbelt Trail to enjoy miles of beauty and a fairy tail footbridge that crosses Walnut Creek.
The town of Clive, Iowa is known for being scenic, and the 11.3 mile Clive Greenbelt Trail is a hallmark of the community. It runs from 73rd to 156th Streets.
Though the town is home to only about 15,000 people, thousands of others visit each year to enjoy the parks and the town's signature trail.
It's easy to join up with friends on the trail. There are eight parking areas and more than 17 access points scattered throughout the city.
You can find a link to the Clive trail access points here.
If you don't have time to travel the whole 11.3 miles, head to Greenbelt Park to experience the beauty of Clive in one spot.
The park is a landmark in town! Enjoy the beauty of Walnut Creek as you walk through the paths and over the scenic footbridge that's the focus point of the park.
The Clive Greenbelt Trail is open from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. daily, so you have plenty of time to check out the paved and manicured pathways.
