Driving through rural Indiana can make for a pleasant ride with so much beauty and natural wonder to behold. While it's no secret that farm country in Indiana offers some of the best scenic views, it's also home to some of the strangest things you'll ever see in the state.
1. This giant peach in Bruceville.
You'll find this oddity along US 41 just north of Vincennes. It was constructed in 1954 to honor the 1939 New York World's Fair and stands 20 feet tall. Definitely not something you expect to see while taking a drive!
2. This enormous sign along I-65.
Indiana is pretty famous for its noteworthy signs and this one is no exception. The back of the sign reads "Jesus is Real." You'll find this landmark in northern Indiana, on I-65, mile marker 243.
3. This minion farm silo.
If you love minions, you'll love this quirky farm silo that you'll find in Ossian, off of N 750 E.
4. This farm of windmills.
The windmills along northern 65 seem to pop out of nowhere and last for miles. While they may not phase you during the day, all of the red lights in the sky will certain jar you at night.
5. This happy go lucky water tower.
If you need a pick me up, you might want to drive down Hobart Street in Ashley, Indiana, where you'll find this awesome sight.
6. This unusual shoe tree.
This remarkable tree can be found in Milltown along S Devils Hollow Rd. No one really knows how it began, but visitors leave shoes here as they travel past. Catch a glimpse without hopping in your car here:
7. This festive sign.
If you've never heard of Santa Claus, Indiana before, you're bound to be thrown by this jolly sign. This town, named after the beloved holiday, celebrates Christmas year round.
8. This collection of gas station signs.
This retro display can be found in the town of Lawrenceburg, on the north side of US Highway 50.
9. This geographical wonder.
This massive freestanding rock formation is a true Indiana treasure, standing more than 50 feet tall. You'll find it in Shoals, Indiana off of US 50.
10. This remarkable statue.
This 20-foot tall statue of a woman is constructed from old hubcaps and is breathtaking up close. You'll find this wonder on Dutch Lane, just off of Highway 62.
11. This larger than life rooster.
This close to ten-foot-tall rooster can be found in Warren, Indiana, You'll find this strange delight near 7253 S Warren Rd in Warren, IN 46792.
12. This giant insect statue.
If you don't like bugs, you'll want to avert your eyes from this 17-foot tall bug. You'll find this replica at the corner of Washington and Sycamore Streets in Kokomo.
13. This bright pink house that looks like it belongs in Florida.
This Florida Tropical House was constructed for the "Century of Progress" World's Fair in Chicago in 1933-1934. This house now lives in Beverly Shores Indiana on Lake Front Drive.
