Steuben County holds up the northeasternmost edge of the state. It is best known for housing Trine University and Pokagon State Park, both of which are in Angola, the county seat.
This underrated county is home to more than 101 IN lakes as well as three navigable creeks and rivers. It has 16 public access sites, plus several that you must pay to use. There are many free sites at Lake James, Big Bower, West Otter, and Fox Lakes.
