1. The Trail at Holliday Park - Indianapolis
Holliday Park has one gorgeous hiking trail, and along the way you'll stumble upon the park's main attraction, the gorgeous ruins.
These stunning ruins aren't remnants from a building that once stood in the park though. They're actually from a former NYC skyscraper that was torn down. The architecture is now preserved for all to see at Holliday Park. Check this trail out at 6363 Spring Mill Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46260.
2. Trail 3 at Charlestown State Park - Charlestown
This gorgeous state park trail will actually take you to Rose Island, a former amusement park that has since been abandoned and reclaimed by nature.
Here you'll find what remains of this former tourist attraction, from decaying, nature-covered structures to a beautiful former swimming pool. You'll find these ruins at 12500 Highway 62, Charlestown, IN 47111.
3. Pioneer Mothers Memorial Forest Trail - Paoli
This beautiful trail is roughly a mile and a half long and takes you through a thick forest.
Along this trail, you'll also find the ruins of a former Native American village, located along Lick Creek. You'll find this forest by driving from State Route 37 in Paoli, Indiana, Full directions can be found here.
4. Railroad Hike at Clifty Falls State Park - Madison
This hike at this beloved state park offers sights of waterfalls and tons of scenery.
Along the way, you'll also catch glimpses of the ruins of Indiana's first ever projected railroad project. Find this charming park at 1501 Green Road, Madison, IN 47250.
5. Tunnel Mill Trail at Muscatatuck County Park - North Vernon
This often overlooked county park contains pretty spectacular natural sites (including imbedded fossils) and has some ruins of their own.
Here you'll find what's left of a former vinegar mill, which offers and unexpected and beautiful sight for park goers. Find it at 325 North State Highway 3 & 7, North Vernon, IN.
