Are you ready to start planning activities for the summer? If you enjoy swimming, there are plenty of places to enjoy swimming around the Land of Lincoln. From beaches to swimming holes, you can cool off in a variety of places. However, if you want a swimming experience like no other, take a dip in the cool, crisp waters at Centennial Beach, a former quarry in Illinois.
Part of the Naperville Park District, Centennial Beach is a seasonal swimming hole with clean, crisp water that's perfect for cooling off on a hot summer's day.
Centennial Beach is actually a former quarry that was active until 1913. At that time, a natural spring below started to fill the large hole.
In 1932, the quarry and the land surrounding it was developed into a swimming facility. A bathhouse was also built using limestone mined from the quarry. This became known as Centennial Beach.
Today, Centennial Beach remains a one-of-a-kind place to swim and for families to hang out and enjoy some fun in the sun.
Spend some time on the beach or use one of the slides or diving boards to get in the water. Trained lifeguards are around for your safety.
There is zero-depth entry into the swimming hole and the deepest it gets is 15 feet. Come to swim, splash, and play at this historic former quarry in Naperville!
There are numerous membership types offered at Centennial Beach for both residents of Naperville and non-residents. You can purchase a youth, senior, adult, or family membership for the season or a day pass. But you'll probably want a season pass so you can come here all summer long!
