One of the best things about living in the Gem State is the plethora of beautiful lakes there are to explore. It's really no secret that Idaho boasts some of the most gorgeous lakes in the country and it would be a crime not to experience them for yourself. This perfectly crystal-clear lake makes for the perfect day trip destination or even an overnight camping adventure. Boasting tons of natural beauty, it's hard to believe this place actually exists! Visit the clearest lake in Idaho and experience the stunning water with your own eyes.
Located just north of Island Park, Henry's Lake State Park is an underrated summertime destination. Not only is it surrounded by the most majestic eastern Idaho beauty, but it also happens to contain one of the most beautiful and clearest lakes you've ever seen.
The park is located on the southern shore of the lake. The beauty of this park is its simplicity. It offers a boat ramp and over 80 campgrounds and that's it. There's really not much more you need in a place like this.
Henry's Lake is a true gem that doesn't get the credit it deserves. The shallow alpine lake is approximately eight square miles in area, but what it lacks in size it makes up for with physical appearance.
The water is absolutely stunning. In fact, it's so clear that you can even see straight down to the bottom in many areas. This place is like an oasis hiding in the mountains and it's the perfect place to visit on a summer day.
Henry's Lake is the type of place that fishers only dream about. The lake is considered one of the finest places for trout fishing in the West with an abundance of cutthroat, brook, and cut-bow hybrid trout. Sizes of the fish can range between 15 inches to a whopping 20 inches.
A boat ramp and launching docks are available in the park. Boating is truly the best way to experience these glorious waters. You could spend hours on the lake and not even be aware of the passing time.
You'll need at least a full day to truly appreciate everything Henry's Lake has to offer. If you decide to stay overnight, you'll have your choice between one of their 83 serviced campsites or three log cabins.
Henry's Lake isn't the biggest but you'll find that the lake's size means nothing. It's the perfectly clear water and breathtaking mountain surroundings that make this little lake feel like heaven on earth.
This place is a hidden paradise in eastern Idaho. You can learn more on the Idaho Parks and Recreation website.
