Our scenic byways are the perfect way to experience the Gem State's beauty in just a few hours time. If you really want to see the best that Idaho has to offer, then we recommend the Sawtooth Scenic Byway.
The Sawtooth Scenic Byway can be found along Highway 75 and takes you from Stanley to Shoshone over 115 miles. There is an abundance of natural attractions that can be found along the highway and you'll be treated to some of the most awe-inspiring backcountry views. From looming mountain peaks to endless green valleys, there is not one dull moment along the highway.
However, there is one main highlight along the highway that you definitely don't want to miss: Galena Summit Overlook. This vista boasts some of the most spectacular scenery in the Sawtooth. It's actual eye-candy and everybody should experience it.
The Galena Summit Overlook is also known as the Bethine and Frank Church Overlook. At a whopping height of 8,701, the view is simply unbeatable. You'll have an incredible panoramic view of the entire Sawtooth Valley with the Sawtooth Mountains providing the perfect dramatic backdrop.
