Hidden away in Idaho's small slice of Yellowstone National Park, there’s an animal refuge that gives new meaning to the words "interactive" and "hands-on." Not to mention "wild!"
Yellowstone Bear World in Rexburg, Idaho is home to a fantastic number of wild animals who roam freely around the property, including multiple bear species, moose, warthogs, bison, reindeer, wolves, and more. But this wildlife park is definitely no zoo! Instead, you'll have the opportunity to take a drive-through "safari" as well as engage with the animals in their natural habitat. With so many things to do and so many unique opportunities to get up close and personal with the wildlife of Idaho, this engaging and fun wildlife park is one of those truly special paces that everyone in Idaho should tour at least once - guaranteed, you'll have a hard time leaving!
Yellowstone Bear World is full-scale animal haven where visitors can have a hands-on experience with multiple species of North American wildlife.
Here, you can take a drive-thru tour of the area and see some of Idaho's most majestic creatures up close and personal.
Or, hop out of the car to get face to face with the gentler side of Idaho's wildlife.
For an additional fee, you can take the Curator Tour for a personalized wildlife safari.
These animals know that the Curator truck means food, and they'll come running!
After new cubs are born, one of the once-in-a-lifetime experiences YBW offers is the opportunity to bottle-feed the baby bears.
Just look how cute they are!
I can literally feel my heart melting.
But they can also be a little sassy, too.
These little guys are definitely a highlight! Visit often enough and you'll start to learn every animal here by name.
The park also features a one-acre, free-roaming petting zoo with barnyard animals and birds.
And for a break between the hundreds of animal photos you will definitely be taking, there's a small theme park with rides and games for kids.
It's basically everything an animal-lover could ever hope for.
Ready to go wild?
I had such a hard time choosing photos to represent this wildlife area - those cubs are just too adorable to handle!
