The Waimea Valley Trail is an easy hike that brings you all the way to a waterfall and swimming hole. It’s the perfect paved trail for hikers of all experience levels.
Near Haleiwa, it’s an easy route to complete.
We love the shade from overhanging tree branches, so the hot sun isn’t beating down on you during your hike. If the temperature is climbing, grab a bathing suit and head out.
And the scenery along the hike is equally gorgeous.
The entire trail is paved and well-maintained. But the grade can be up to 8 percent in some areas, so you may need a little help if you push a stroller or wheelchair/mobility equipment to the falls.
The trail is an out-and-back trail and measures in at just under two miles.
The entire elevation gain is only 272 feet, which makes it pretty easy to complete. The kids will love it, too!
The trail and falls can get pretty busy as the day continues, as it’s a popular hike.
Come early in the morning and you’ll have most of the trail to yourself. Or later in the afternoon, if you want a little quiet along the way.
There is a small entry fee for this hike.
