There’s a little-known beach in Hawaii that you need to hike to next time you’re on Kauai. A small trail takes you out to a hidden, sandy beach with stunning views in every direction. Pack your bags and hike through the rainforest to get to this lovely beach spot for your next adventure!
If you’re looking for a secluded spot that not many people know about, then you need to head to Kauai's very own Secret Beach, also known as Kauapea Beach.
An easy hike brings you to wide, sandy beaches with big waves and even bigger views. It’s an easy trail that everyone in your family will love!
The trail is short and sweet, measuring in at just .6 miles.
It’s an out and back trail to a gorgeous beach with breathtaking views. Take in the beach at sunrise or sunset for an extra "Wow" factor, or spend the day lounging on the beach and enjoy the views of the lighthouse.
But the real payoff is once you get to the beach.
You can go searching for seashells, or just set up your picnic spot with towels, umbrellas, and more. Pack a lunch, plenty of water, and a good book or two!
You’ll be blown away by the colors of the sea and the surf.
The surf is strong, especially in the winter, and there’s an undertow. Wait until high tide and enjoy the tide pools that pop up for a gentle swimming option.
The hike back is short and sweet.
It’s a little steep on the way back, so make sure you account for that after your day at the beach. The entire elevation gain is only 173 feet, so nothing strenuous.
There’s parking in a lot at the start of the trail.
Please be respectful of the nearby private residences, and don’t block any driveways. Be sure to pack out everything you bring, because there are no trash cans on the beach.
The next time you’re looking for a hidden spot to get away from it all, head to this Secret Beach!
With solitude, a beautiful hike, and plenty of wonderful views, it’s the perfect spot to spend your day. Grab your gear and head on out!
