Whether you are visiting the islands or live here permanently, there is one activity that absolutely must be on your Hawaiian Islands bucket list: a ziplining tour. There are incredible ziplining opportunities to be found across the Hawaiian Islands, but today, we’re taking you on a visit to Climb Works. Located on Oahu’s north shore at Keana Farms, Climb Works is home to the longest ziplines on Oahu - and an incredible experience (trust me, my husband and I went for Christmas two years ago).
Before we begin, let me say that absolutely anyone can go ziplining. While you might want to stay away if you’re terrified of heights, ziplining is a perfect activity for anyone who wants a little adventure in their life - or just some incredible aerial views of the islands.
The ziplining tour lasts approximately three hours, and includes eight tandem ziplines, starting with the short and sweet 500-foot line, and ending with the adventure park’s 2,400-foot line.
Climb Works’ long, high, and extra-quiet ziplines are not only extremely safe, but designed so you can witness all of the breathtaking beauty Oahu’s north shore has to offer, from famous beaches and picturesque farms to majestic mountains and lush valleys.
The tour features more than just ziplines, though. The tour begins with a ten minute, two-mile ATV ride up the mountainside, past farms and through the jungle.
You can also walk across thrill-inducing swinging bridges…
....stunning boardwalks…
...and even try your hand at rope climbing.
You might even have the opportunity to sample some of the farm’s produce.
Keana Farms produces more than one million pounds of produce each year - including papaya, apple bananas, taro, eggplant, cherry tomatoes. (On our tour back in December 2015, we got to taste the farm’s fresh apple bananas, and now my husband is obsessed with the hybrid fruit.)
You’ll also learn a little along the way.
Knowledgeable - and fun - guides will teach you about Hawaiian history, culture, and farming at the various education exhibits set up throughout the tour.
You can purchase photographs of yourself afterwards, or even bring your own GoPro.
Sure, you might be making a weird face, but check out that view!
Don’t forget to be prepared!
Wear closed-toe shoes, dress appropriately for the weather, leave your valuables at home, pull back long hair, and prepare for the experience of a lifetime.
What better way to immerse yourself in the Hawaiian jungle than to spend the afternoon zipping through Oahu’s towering trees and lush valleys? Check out this epic promotional video below, but do be warned that you will want to book your ziplining tour immediately after watching this footage.
Climb Works is located at 56 Kamehameha Highway in Kahuku, and you can book your tour - and gather more information - on their website.
