Minnehaha Falls in Lakemont, Georgia is a spectacular short hike that leads to one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the state.

Much of a hidden gem, this short waterfall hike is the perfect way to get outside for a few hours and carve out some much needed nature time.

When you pop in the address to your GPS you might have some difficulty, so it’s recommended that you keep your eyes open for important signage throughout the trip—a 1.5 mile gravel road will take you on what seems like a never-ending road to beauty.

While there is parking for cars, it is limited, so be prepared for a full lot if you decide to take this hike during high traffic times—like weekends, for instance.

There is a wooden staircase built into the mountain that is what you’re going to climb in order to get to the waterfall—be careful on the path because it can get overgrown with roots throughout the year.

There will be plenty of signs pointing you in the right direction so do not be afraid that you’ll get turned around, this is a very straightforward hike.

Once you make your way up the staircase, the reward of this stunning waterfall will be absolutely worth it.

Minnehaha Falls are ginormous in person, and enormously wide, cascading down to the water below.
