Dicks Creek Falls is the confluence of the Dicks and Waters Creek in the Chattahoochee National Forest.
As a popular hike for many travelers in the Dahlonega area, during the summertime, the area is used for another reason—swimming!
The falls and the shoals in the surrounding area are perfect for wading and sunning during the summer months.
While it’s encouraged that swimmers exercise extreme caution, which means no diving or climbing on rocks, the area is still perfect for cooling on when the temps get warm.
In fact, there are quite a few different pockets of the creek that can be used as a swimming hole, especially those areas that are both deep and calm.
Explore the hike to the falls along the creek, which clocks in at 1.4 miles out and back.
Good for all skill levels, you can hike the trail as it wanders through the wilderness, enjoying the cool mountain air.
Just make sure to bring a bathing suit because cooling off at the end at the swimming hole is always a highlight of the trek.
