One of the most interesting things about Chattahoochee Bend State Park in Georgia is that it’s one of the largest in the state, but still one of the lesser-known in comparison to other parks. Clocking in at nearly 3,000-acres, this park offers a wide variety of activities across the board. Whether you want to spend the day boating and fishing along the river, hiking through the forests, or even pitching a tent and camping under the stars, this park has it all…and then some.
One of the most exciting and underrated states parks in the state of Georgia is Chattahoochee Bend.
At 2,910-acres of majestic wilderness, the park is smack dab in the beautiful bend of the Chattahoochee River.
Campers and water sports enthusiasts unite within this tract of nature in order to enjoy boat ramps, woodland trails, and so much more.
Most of the park has been left in its natural state, which is why it’s coveted. There is nothing like pitching a tent in the middle of nature and feeling like you’re disconnected from the rest of the world.
Part of what makes Chattahoochee Bend State Park lesser-known is the fact that it’s relatively new! In fact, it’s the second newest state park, with Don Carter being the most recent addition.
With platform campsites along the river and pull-through campsites for both RVs and trailers, you can comfortably spend a weekend here and feel at home.
Just make sure you hike over to the observation deck which allows you to see deep into the wooded forests at nearly 360 degrees.
Enjoy hiking, camping, paddling, geocaching, biking, fishing, and more, when you visit Chattahoochee Bend State Park.
