There is no denying it — Tallulah Gorge is a pretty phenomenal place in Georgia. We’re lucky to have such a beautiful state park where we can spend an afternoon hiking, biking, exploring, and adventuring through nature. However, there are some aspects of hiking throughout Tallulah Gorge that might just make your stomach drop, despite still being as magical as ever. Check out this suspension bridge in order to know what we mean.
Hiking through Tallulah Gorge is a fantastic way to spend an afternoon, no matter the season in Georgia.
However, if you’re looking to level up your Tallulah Gorge hike, then we have the perfect suspension bridge trail to really get your blood going.
The most popular trail within the park is the Hurricane Falls trail, which traverses along the rim of the gorge, has hikers ascending and descending, and also crosses the suspension bridge over the rapids.
For those who are afraid of heights, this suspension bridge hike may or may not be something to consider, however, for those who love a bit of adventure, you’ll be in for a treat.
The suspension bridge crosses the gorge along the south, and provides magical views of the water below, careening down through the boulders.
But hiker beware, there are quite a few stairs which must be tackled both to and from the suspension bridge and the gorge floor in order to see it all.
While this might be the workout you’ve wanted all along if 1,600+ stairs are just not feasible, then maybe sitting this one out is best.
The trail itself is just over 2 miles in length, with quite a few changes in elevation to consider throughout.
But we promise, for those who put in the work on this suspension bridge trail — the views will absolutely be worth the effort.
Address: 338 Jane Hurt Yarn Drive, Tallulah Falls, GA 30573
