Tavares has a stunning seaplane base that opened in 2010 and hosts thousands of seaplanes every year. So it’s only right that within the city’s limits that there is a playground and a themed splash pad that is all about the seaplane. Bring the whole family to Wooton Park in Florida for a cool way to stay refreshed.
As the temperatures begin to climb in Tavares, Florida, families head to Wooton Park to keep cool and have fun.
This incredible 6-acre lakeside park has tons of amenities to enjoy, from a giant wooden playground known as Wooton Wonderland to a seaplane-themed splash pad!
The splash pad is a huge draw for visitors and is open on a first-come-first-served basis. The seaplane structure within the splash pad is a huge centerpiece of the park with water shooting out of the propellors and everything!
From June 7th through August 6th, the splash pad will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the cost for entry is $2. Guests can also buy season passes if they wish to use the splash pad often throughout the summer.
But maybe before you tackle the splash pad you visit the giant playground inside the park known as Wooton Wonderland.
This wooden structure is like a castle under the dripping Spanish Moss and has tons of interactive elements throughout.
It’s easy to spend an entire day within this park, whether it’s watching the train arrive and depart at the station nearby, watching the seaplanes fly overhead, or getting soaked in the seaplane-themed water park.
