You don’t need us to tell you that Florida has some pretty impressive beaches. We’re talking world-renowned beaches. Thus likely the reason why so many people flock to this Southern state when the weather starts getting warmer. However, there is one beach this year that is winning top honors. In a recent Top 10 U.S. Beaches list, Florida International University Professor Stephen Leatherman has named Grayton Beach in Florida as the number one beach in the country. Take a look at why…
Grayton Beach in Florida has been named as the best beach in the entire country this year and we are not at all surprised.
Professor Stephen Leatherman, also known as “Dr. Beach” chose Grayton Beach primarily because of the emerald-green water and sugary white sand.
Grayton Beach has been heralded as having some pretty phenomenal sand—the powdery white kind that squeaks when you walk over it.
Leatherman even admitted that it is easily some of the finest sand in the world, likely because it is 99.9% pure quartz—talk about a gem!
Grayton Beach State Park is a natural beauty—not just for the clear emerald water, but also because of the towering dunes along the coast and the rare freshwater ponds.
Walk from the parking lot underneath the canopied tree-tunnel trail, and enter into the beauty of the beach.
It’s very likely that you won’t find too many other beaches in the United States that boast water this clear.
Come enjoy a sunset, enjoy a relaxed afternoon, and revel in what has been named the best beach in the country.
