Some Delawareans are surprised to learn that Delaware's beaches are consistently among the cleanest in the country, including being ranked as #1 for water quality. The state puts a lot of effort into ensuring our beaches are clean and the water is clear, and it's certainly paying off. Most people know about the beautiful beach at Rehoboth, but if you're willing to travel just a little farther south, you'll be treated to a pristine beach with soft sand at Fenwick Island State Park.
Fenwick Island State Park is located on Route 1, just south of Bethany Beach (or north of the town of Fenwick Island).
The Park itself is nearly 350 acres of land, just south of Bethany Beach.
Which means there are miles of soft sand to walk, play, sunbathe and relax on.
The water here is almost unbelievably blue - you'll feel like you're in the Caribbean on a clear day!
And the miles of beach here are not usually crowded, which makes relaxing and enjoying the salt air very easy.
Fenwick Island State Park offers some of the best surfing around, too, so grab your board and paddle out! You can also rent a kayak nearby.
The bright water, soft sand, and peacefulness of Fenwick Island State Park make it a place that you need to add to your Delaware bucket list.
Be sure to visit Fenwick Island State Park when you're checking out the Delaware beaches this summer, and enjoy the serenity of a quiet beach and the soft, pristine sand of the best coastline in the country. If you're in love with the idea of the cleanest beaches in the United States, you'll love Rehoboth Beach, too!
