George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison all shared a dream of a national botanic garden but the institution wasn't established until 1820.

The Botanic Gardens have different exhibits throughout the year, as well as, various programs and events for everyone of all ages. The holiday exhibition is one of their most popular exhibits with models of monuments and memorials made of natural materials.
The US Botanic Gardens is free and is open every single day of the year. It’s the perfect place to stop in and enjoy a little piece of paradise right in the city.
