Platt Park is tucked away rightt on the beautiful Naugatuck River.
The close proximity to water offers opportunities for fishing. It's also sure to become a popular spot for those looking to kayak.
Platt Park is part of the Waterbury Greenway, an effort by the city to revitalize the riverfront area.
Waterbury eventually hopes to have several miles of trails along the riverfront reaching all the way to Watertown.
Platt Park has only been open for a few months as of the time of this article, but you'll already find a few picnic tables here.
This is sure to become one of the most beloved parks in Waterbury, and a great spot to enjoy some waterfront tranquility.
