So last time I told you about some of the best beaches in Connecticut, which you can revisit here. They are widely known across the state, popular for their amenities and large size. But today I want to focus in on the little known beaches in the state, the beaches you go to when you're bored of the popular destinations and you want a different view. These beaches are perfect for folks looking to change things up, or even if you just want a quieter experience. You'll definitely want to check these out!
1. DuBois Beach (Stonington)
This small secluded beach is very scenic, making it a great spot for photo capturing and lounging in the sand.
2. Westbrook Town Beach (Westbrook)
Not only is this beautiful beach pretty quiet, but it's also super close to activities like shopping and dining.
3. Lighthouse Point Park (New Haven)
I'm always surprised by how many folks have never been here. This makes for a lovely walk and the carousel is a must see.
4. Pleasure Beach (Bridgeport)
After the bridge connecting it to the mainland burned, this became an abandoned island. But this will be its second year since the reopening, making it pretty quiet and unique.
5. Jacob's Beach (Guilford)
This memory making hotspot is quaint and very quiet. You won't see water guns or hear loud radios here because they're against the rules!
6. Esker Point Beach (Groton)
A beautiful walkway leads to this beach, where visitors can enjoy the soft muddy bottom as they play in the water, instead of the usual rocks.
7. McCook Point Beach (East Lyme)
The picnic area is full of thick green grass, which fades into the beach. Plus there's an ice cream truck!
8. Bluff Point State Park (Groton)
Arguably the best hike in the state, this beach is a natural wonder full of various habitats.
9. Soundview Beach (Old Lyme)
With two bars right on the beach, this spot is for party-goers looking to have a good time while catching a tan.
10. Green Harbor Beach (New London)
This little beach is like an oasis in the middle of tall buildings, and is a popular destination for boating. The small beach area is usually pretty empty, but you get the added bonus of watching sailboats on the horizon.
I can't wait to get my summer tan at one of these places! Where's your summer beach getaway?
