There is a place in Connecticut that makes the list of top state beauties every time. I'll give you some clues: it's got jaw dropping views, beach, marsh, and woods. I bet you have a few places in mind, but this one is special. Photographers love this place, as do bird watchers and nature lovers. Dying to know where it is? Well I'll tell you.
It's Silver Sands State Park in Milford.
297 acres of pure joy.
Even the path to get there makes you blush.
This is a great buildup to the magic you'll see when exploring the park.
Absolutely gorgeous from every angle.
If you're a sunset chaser, or an early bird who prefers sunrises, this would be a great place to catch it!
And just in case you didn't believe me... Here it is!
During a low tide like this you can walk out pretty far. Some folks even set up beach chairs.
Watch for crabs!
I got nipped on the big toe once but it wasn't too bad. From a distance these guys are actually pretty cute.
The birding here is awesome.
Both in and out of the water, including in the wooded area, there are bird shots waiting to be taken.
So get up close and personal.
Take advantage of the land and really explore.
And then explore some more.
There's a little something here for everyone, and definitely more than you can cover in one trip. So ditch your usual beach this year and get to know Silver Sands.
I promise you won't regret it!
