For the past several months we've been craving the burst of color that Spring brings to Connecticut. Now that the warm days are here, it's time to get outside! One place to really soak in the sunshine, newly emerging greenery and spring flowers is Stamford's huge botanical garden. The Bartlett Arboretum and Gardens is a 91-acre natural oasis well worth exploring.
Bartlett Arboretum and Gardens is a stunning natural environment open year-round. But during the Spring, this glorious 91-acre sanctuary just begs for a warm weather visit.
With 12 different gardens and hundreds of plant species, this huge botanical garden is an entrancing feast for the eyes.
Stroll through the gardens taking your time. There are even benches scattered throughout the property so you can soak in your incredible surroundings.
The botanical garden isn't just groomed gardens. Enjoy taking a hike on the miles and miles of wooded hiking trails.
With so many sights to see, the Bartlett is a wonderful spot for families to visit. You can even bring the four-legged family member to enjoy the trails. Just remember to keep your pup on a leash.
One of our favorite places on the property is the delightful boardwalk wetland walk. This trail is like discovering tropical jungle right here in Connecticut.
The Bartlett also has plenty of classes, activities, and tours taking place. Admission to the botanical garden is free, however, certain special events may require a purchased ticket.
