1. Enders Falls, Granby

Ender's State Forest is home to some of the most spectacular waterfalls that we have in Connecticut. 2. Buttonwood Farm, Griswold

The huge field of sunflowers at Buttonwood Farm is sure to make your jaw drop if you time your visit right. 3. Great Mountain Forest, Norfolk/Canaan

Small waterfalls, twisted trees, swamps, and other natural beauty occupies this lavish forest in Connecticut. Taking a walk through Great Mountain Forest is like following in the footsteps of a sprite or a hobbit. You'll love taking your time to explore this wonderful 6,000-acre property. 7. Studio 80 + Sculpture Grounds, Old Lyme

The peaceful 4.5-acre retreat of Studio 80 + Sculpture Grounds houses abstract sculpture inspired by nature in a beautiful setting. Children are welcome and there is no admission charge to stroll the grounds and admire the art. 8. Connecticut Science Center Butterfly Encounter, Hartford

The Butterfly Encounter is an exhibit like no other at the Connecticut Science Center. The plant rich space is home to more than 40 different species of magical butterflies. 11. Logee's Greenhouses, Danielson

Since 1892, Logee's has been growing a wonderful array of plants. Enter one of their greenhouses to become transported to a lush green world that seems far from our own.
