White Memorial Conservation Center has miles and miles of easy walking trails on their 4,000-acre property and many of them include boardwalk paths.
Experience over 40 miles of trails at the White Memorial Conservation Center in Litchfield. With so much territory to cover, you'll need to return again and again to see everything this incredible place has to offer.
One of the most popular destinations on the gigantic property is the Little Pond Boardwalk Trail. This 1.2-mile loop is an elevated boardwalk that gives you access to the wetland environment.
The boardwalk path crosses the Bantam River in two spots giving you a unique opportunity to observe waterfowl and the occasional kayaker during warmer months.
Discover a sprinkling of other boardwalks throughout the conservation center property. Quite a few of the 30 trails that criss cross the landscape have boardwalk sections.
These charming little man-made sections cross water features and swampy areas so the trails are accessible year-round.
A few trails, like the Ice House Ruins Trail, have boardwalk overlooks where the scenery is downright picture perfect.
Take a short stroll or a longer walk, the trails vary from .2 miles to 2.8 miles in length. Combine shorter trails together to create the ideal adventure for you.
