City Park in Denver, Colorado is a really fantastic park! It was built in 1880 and it covers 330 acres on the eastern side of the city. There's so much to see and do in this park and it's the perfect place to spend a summer day. Read on to learn more about all it has to offer residents of and visitors to The Mile High City.
City Park is lovely! It's large and green and it offers incredible views of the Denver skyline.
It's one of the oldest public spaces in the city.
There's lots of space to spread out in this park and relax with family and friends, or even to spend some time on your own. There are lots of paths you can walk or run and countless trees to sit under in the shade.
There are two lakes in the park: Ferril Lake and Duck Lake. You can rent swan boats, kayaks, and paddleboats on the Ferril Lake if you want to get out on the water.
The historic boat house on Ferril Lake can be rented out for events.
There are plenty of picnic areas with grills if you'd like to have a meal there during your visit.
There are a number of statues and fountains in the park to view, too.
You might enjoy playing tennis on one of the park's tennis courts.
There are also two excellent playgrounds in the park to keep your little ones excited and busy during your visit.
City Park is also home to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science which is fun and educational for all ages.
The Denver Zoo is also located in the park!
