If you live in Colorado, you know that nearly every inch of the state is a work of art, but when one of our attractions makes a list of world-famous landmarks, you know we have to take notice! In this case, it is the beautiful Maroon Bells in Colorado that are being noticed, and we could not agree more:
Located in Aspen, the Maroon Bells in Colorado are one of the most jaw-dropping and most photographed places in the state, earning them a spot on PureWow's list of the 50 Most Beautiful Places on the Planet.
Coming in at #37, PureWow pays homage to this iconic Colorado spot by giving a brief synopsis of the area, noting that the "Maroon Bells are twin peaks in Aspen’s Elk Mountains, separated by a glacial lake and surrounded by national forest. Swoon."
While twin peaks are nothing new to Colorado, Maroon Bells is a real diamond in the rough, thanks to both our pristine skies and the area's majestic landscape.
Have you ever noticed that some places in Colorado seem to come to life even more during a particular season? This is not the case for the Maroon Bells, as they remain as picture-perfect as ever no matter the time of year!
The Maroon Bells in Colorado can be accessed by a 12-mile round-trip hike. For information on current conditions and Maroon Bells Scenic Area campground reservations, call (970) 945-3319.
