Are you looking for a small but mighty waterfall that's easily accessible for most people? Copeland Falls in Rocky Mountain National Park fits the bill! This little waterfall is only a few steps away from the trailhead and parking lot, but when you visit it, you certainly won't be disappointed. It's beautiful! There are hundreds of miles of trails in Rocky Mountain National Park and they all lead to incredible things and beautiful vistas. However, many are quite difficult, and that can be daunting to some.

Fortunately, you don't have to be in top notch athletic shape to enjoy what this park has to offer. There are some trails within Rocky Mountain National Park that lead to amazing things that are rather flat, are quite easy, and are family-friendly, too.

One such trail is the one to Copeland Falls in the Wild Basin area of the park. This trail is short and easy and it has a fantastic reward at the end.

On the way to the falls, you'll stroll along the lovely St. Vrain River.

It's only .6 miles round trip to the falls and back and the trail has an elevation gain of just 15 feet. This out-and-back trail is fun for anyone who wishes to give it a try.

If you walk this trail during the warmer months, you'll almost certainly see some wildflowers along the awy.

You may also encounter some wildlife.

You'll love listening to the sound of the flowing river as you walk and especially when you cross over this footbridge.

After just .3 miles, you'll come to Lower Copeland Falls. It's only 3 feet tall, but even despite its small size, its quite spectacular!

Continue up the trail a little further, and you'll be able to see Upper Copeland Falls. It's not much bigger at 10 feet tall, but you're sure to find it quite beautiful!

The water is usually moving quite fast here and the rocks can be quite slippery, so don't go near the water and keep your little ones close to you.

If you want to see more waterfalls, you can continue on this trail to Ouzel Falls and others. Or, you can simply relax here for a bit and take in the beauty of this small but powerful waterfall.

That's what's great about Colorado, you know. If you want to go deep into nature to immerse yourself in beauty and get away from it all, you certainly can.
