If you love exploring every nook and cranny of Colorado, today's article is for you, as we will be going inside one of Colorado's most fascinating caves! If you are ready to go deep inside the earth and explore a one-of-a-kind cave, book a tour of the iconic Glenwood Caverns:
Located in - you guessed it! - Glenwood Springs, Glenwood Caverns is housed in the aptly named Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, which is home to not only the cave, but rides, dining, shopping, and shows.
Named "One of the Top 10 Places to Go Underground" by USA Today, the Glenwood Caverns are hiding away near the top of Iron Mountain and have been open to the public since the 1890s.
Home to 16,000 known feet of caverns, Glenwood Caverns offers three different tours, ranging from the 40-minute Fairy Caves walking tour to the high-adrenaline Wild Tour.
During your tour(s) of Glenwood Caverns, you will discover narrow and winding passages, intricate water features, and other jaw-dropping formations that you may have never seen before.
Do you consider yourself to be adventurous and crave a little more excitement? You will find just that with the Wild Tour, which includes dark rooms, narrow 18-inch passages, and an inside look at the cave that few have experienced.
Tours of both the highly-decorated Kings Room and aforementioned Fairy Cave - both of which are suitable for most fitness levels - are included with the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park's Funday Pass, which starts at $59 for adults ($54 for kids) and includes all-day admission to all of the park's attractions.
Do you prefer only to tour the caves? Admission to just the caves (which includes your gondola ride to the top of Iron Mountain) is $33 for adults and $28 for kids.
