You have strolled through the stunning Denver Botanic Gardens, have ridden the high-adrenaline rides at Elitch Gardens, and bought all of your nursery supplies at Paulino Gardens, so therefore you have experienced all the gardens that the city has to offer, right? Wrong! In fact, if you have never experienced this secret garden in Colorado, you are truly missing out on one of the city's best-kept secrets:
Located just north of Speer between Ogden and Emerson Streets, Alamo Placita Park is a quiet 5-acre park that is home to one of Denver's most fragrant and colorful surprises...
...this vibrant and historic garden!
Designed by premier landscape architect Saco Resnik DeBoer in 1927, the park still maintains the originally laid plans and features rows of varying flowers...
...mature trees...
...and a winding trail that is perfect for an afternoon stroll!
In addition to "just" the gardens, Alamo Placita Park is also home to a playground, basketball courts, and designated picnic/gathering areas.
Alamo Placita Park is maintained by the City of Denver Parks and Recreation and is open 7 days a week from 5 am to 11 pm.
Since it is a public park, admission to the gardens is FREE!
