Cincinnati is a beautiful city and there are many places where you can experience its lovely scenery. The dozens of parks in our area are a good place to start, and one of the favorites - and most historic - is Eden Park. This urban oasis is really broken into many different sections, so there are a variety of things to do and see. However, we recently shared a photo of one particular area of Eden Park that surprised us, as it became clear that many Cincinnatians have yet to discover it! Twin Lakes in Eden Park may be a little-known area of Cincinnati, but it’s one of the most beautiful spots in the city.
Eden Park is one of many Cincinnati destinations that perfectly blends nature, history, and beauty. The historic park includes many notable areas, such as Krohn Conservatory, the Art Museum, Mirror Lake, and Twin Lakes.
We recently shared the photo above of the Twin Lakes section of Eden Park, and our readers’ responses to it were almost overwhelming. Hundreds of questions and comments from those who didn’t recognize this beautiful area made it clear that this is one hidden gem that definitely deserves to be featured in full.
Once a quarry, these small lakes are now the ideal spot for relaxation, scenery, and play. You can find Twin Lakes just past Krohn Conservatory and there's a small parking lot for your convenience. It’s a beautiful place to escape to any time of day and in every season. You’ll discover something lovely no matter when you visit.
History and art fans will love this area, as it offers several sculptures. It's also very close to the 172-foot-tall water tower from 1894, that is now used by the City of Cincinnati as a communications facility.
The footbridge that sits in the center of the park and takes you over the water is also a highlight. As you stroll across, it's easy to forget you are in the center of an urban area.
The bridge was built in 1903 and then reconstructed 90 years later. Like many things in Cincinnati, it lives on for future generations to enjoy.
The views from Twin Lakes are also spectacular. You can relax on a park bench, looking out over the Ohio River and Kentucky.
This serene section of Eden Park may not receive as much attention as other parts, but it really should. When you visit Eden Park to walk around Mirror Lake or take in the latest flower show at Krohn Conservatory, don't forget to also stop by Twin Lakes, as it may just be the most beautiful spot in Cincinnati.
The Twin Lakes section of Eden Park is a must-see when you visit this beautiful urban oasis in Cincinnati. The next time you're in the area, be sure to stop by and experience it for yourself.
