As we leave behind the scorching hot summer in SoCal and move into the crisp and cool season of autumn, it's time to start thinking about all the places you want to visit to make your fall complete.
Although you may already have quite a long list of things to see and do this season, you'll want to add this picturesque ranch to the top of the list. From vibrant and colorful gardens to lush and fragrant trails, this serene setting will make your fall complete.
Welcome to Rancho Los Alamitos Historic Ranch and Gardens. This cultural gem tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city is just what you need when you want to spend some time surrounded by natural beauty.
You can find Rancho Los Alamitos Ranch and Historic Gardens at 6400 E Bixby Hill Rd., Long Beach, CA.
Celebrating 50 years, this picturesque ranch in Southern California has been a bit of a local secret since 1968.
At Rancho Los Alamitos Historic Ranch and Gardens, you'll find approximately 7.5 acres of beauty to explore. From serene walking trails to colorful gardens sprouting with blooms, this slice of paradise will delight you in every way.
You can explore the grounds free of charge during regular operating hours from 1:00 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. Not only is admission free, but you'll also find free parking which is often hard to come by in Southern California.
Although many people enjoy doing a self-guided tour at Rancho Los Alamitos Historic Ranch and Gardens, we highly recommend taking a docent-guided tour in order to fully appreciate the surroundings and the history of the grounds.
Within the grounds, you'll find the original 19th century Ranch House that has graced this land since the early days. Although the Ranch House has since been completely restored, it still retains its original old world charm from when it was first constructed.
Although there's really no bad time of year to visit this local gem, we are especially fond of touring it during the autumn season when the fall colors are in full force.
Throughout the property you'll find seasonal displays that will make you feel quite festive and put you in the mood for all of your favorite fall fragrances and flavors.
Whether you're here to embrace the beautiful setting or just soak up the history of this cultural gem, you'll find yourself completely enchanted by this local ranch that is free to explore.
