1. Glen Canyon Park
Glen Canton Park will amaze many because you might almost forget that you're in the middle of hectic San Francisco. Even more surprising, there is an area of rocks that are ideal for rock climbing! Address: Bosworth St, San Francisco, 94131
2. Ina Coolbrith Park
Ina Coolbrith Park is a small park on the north side of Russian Hill. This park offers stunning views of downtown as well as Alcatraz off to the north. This is a true hidden gem. Address: Taylor & Vallejo Streets, San Francisco, 94101
3. Esmeralda Slide Park
Hidden among the trees, and only known locally, you'll come across two slides in this park in Bernal Heights. The biggest attraction here are the urban slides for everyone. Bernal Hill runs alongside a section of the Esmeralda street stairs, that are nearby. Address: Esmeralda Street & Winfield Street, San Francisco, 94110
4. Grandview Park
Grandview Park is a hilltop park in the Sunset District with awesome views from downtown San Francisco to Golden Gate Park. The biggest attraction in this park is the 16th Avenue Tiled Steps, which are colorful mosaic steps. Address: 14th Avenue, San Francisco, 94122
5. John Mclaren Park
Explore the city's second-largest park. This park offers playgrounds, picnic areas and game courts, and more. If you are curious check out McNab Lake and the newly renovated Coffman Pool. Address: Mansell St & John F Shelley Dr, San Francisco, 94134
6. Sutro Heights Park
Sutro Heights Park is a hidden gem sitting high above the Cliff House on the edge of San Francisco. Hike up the steps at a leisurely speed and then appreciate the ocean views along with the gardens and random statues. Eventually you'll end up at Sutro Baths and the infamous cave by the Cliff House. 7. Angel Island State Park
Take a ferry to this mostly uninhabited California Historical Landmark. Angel Island is a heaven for hikers. It offers incredible 360 views of the Bay and the city yet it feels like a world away. Address: Accessible from Pier 41, San Francisco Bay Island
8. Lafayette Park
This is a beautiful park in Pacific Heights that isn't crowded at all. This is a clean and well maintained park with wonderful tennis courts and a large playground. Address: Gough And Sacramento Street, San Francisco, 94109
9. Buena Vista Park
Many trails in Buena Vista Park are paved and easy to navigate, and all trails to the top are around one mile each way. Enjoy great views of the city in San Francisco’s oldest park. This beautiful area and park is known for its grand views too. Address: Buena Vista Ave E & Duboce Street, San Francisco, 94117
10. Yerba Buena Gardens
Take in the open green space with numerous seating areas, trees, and even flowers. This is a park that will surprise many in Downtown San Francisco. Yerba Buena offers one of the few open spaces in downtown San Francisco. Address: 745 Mission Street, San Francisco, 94103
